This show was attended by a faction of Russian cops that monitor fascist and anti-fascist movements. We were told not to talk politics, put out any material that might give away our stance on the subject, or even to X up. After the show kids we stayed with told us about anti-fascist friends who were in prison. When we asked why, they said it was for their involvement in the anti-fascist movement- not for any action- just for being outspokenly against fascism. In shock and disbelief we asked if that was legal. They threw back their heads and laughed, “THIS IS RUSSIA!”
